Communities Forward Festival

Scarecrows

Photos from Saturday’s work day for 40 children and adults to make scarecrows for the Scarecrow Trail at the MSU Extension Service office in Verona. The trail opened to the public Monday and will continue through Oct. 31.

Robertson’s Sportswear Softball Challenge

Photos of the five Lee County teams in Saturday’s 10th annual Robertson’s challenge in New Albany. It’s one of the state’s biggest one-day events for high school slow-pitch softball. There were 33 teams there (I don’t have the exact info in front of me at this time) involved in a total of 51 games over six fields. I got there about 11:40 a.m. Saturday after shooting the Guntown Cotton Festival. Luckily, the games were stagged where I could spend a few minutes shooting each team and watching the action.

Saltillo Elementary Character Parade

Guntown Cotton Festival Photos

A variety of shots during the 10th annual Guntown Cotton Festival. Shots include Friday night’s live music and street dance and Saturday’s busy schedule including bingo, children’s fun run and bike parade, tractor pull, karaoke, etc.

TCPS first night home game photos

These are shots and a video clip from Tupelo Christian Preparatory School’s first varsity football game under the lights at its home stadium Friday, Aug. 31. Some are action shots, but they’re mostly crowd and on-the-field reaction photos. The TCPS Eagles defeated Tipton-Rosemark 14-13 in a thrilling game.
